Competitor Analysis

To better understand the market and user expectations, I analyzed four mobile and web-based tools commonly used by small business owners to manage sales, inventory, and customer transactions.

I created two user personas “Moyo and Brian” based on the data gathered from the user research. These personas represent the ideal users.

To visualize the structure and core interactions of the Salex app, I created low-fidelity wireframes focusing on simplicity, speed, and ease of use. These wireframes helped me map out the user experience before diving into high-fidelity design.

While designing the app, I started with my own assumptions about what users might need. But through interviews and usability testing, I gained a deeper understanding of their real challenges, such as time-consuming manual processes and the frequent loss of sales records.

This experience reinforced the importance of grounding design decisions in user insights, not assumptions. I learned that users don’t just want a digital tool; they need a solution that saves time, increases efficiency, and keeps their business records safe and accessible.
